Life at ASU

There are more than 800 different clubs and organizations throughout ASU and more than 60 Fulton Engineering student organizations. These groups are an excellent resource for new international students at ASU and provide many opportunities for social activities, community service and campus involvement. Some may also provide transportation from the airport upon your arrival, temporary housing, help finding permanent housing, initial grocery shopping, and assistance locating on-campus student services and activities.

Are you getting enough sleep? Are you eating the right foods? Are you taking care of yourself? Are you seeking medical assistance when you are ill? Making sure you are doing these things is an important consideration in your being academically successful. The following are some resources to assist you in being well:

Cultural Diversity

ASU is a diverse institution. This multitude of diversity encompasses such areas as ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, sexual identity and orientation, and students with disabilities. If you wish to learn more about any of these issues, which often influence your academic experience, there are student services and organizations available to assist you with resources, information and support.

ASU Parking and Transportation offers information on commuter options available to students, from parking passes, free intercampus shuttles and Tempe city Orbit shuttles, and the reduced-cost public transportation U-Pass, which give you access to ride Valley Metro buses and the light rail. Phoenix is the fifth largest city in the United States. The metropolitan area is a low-density area, with areas of activity distributed across the region. Traveling by car, bus and light rail is common; walking and biking are popular forms of transportation within the communities you will live.

Student Support

Both Fulton Engineering and the ASU Graduate College offer resources and services to help students be successful.
