Research Assistants and Teaching Assistants
Assistantships provide an excellent opportunity to help finance graduate education, further individual study and contribute to ASU’s research and teaching efforts. Most research assistantship positions are generally found through direct relationships with faculty.
In addition to tuition, assistantships provide a monthly stipend, which can vary depending upon the responsibilities of the position. Research assistants perform part-time research under the direct supervision of faculty. Teaching assistants perform instructional duties such as lecturing, assisting in laboratory classes, grading tests and papers.
Applications for graduate teaching/research assistantships/associateships are available on the Graduate College website or through your academic unit. Teaching and research assistants/associates are responsible for adhering to policies outlined in the TA/RA Handbook.
